What a wonderful blessing of encouragement from this wonderful 10 year old boy. God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline; 2 Tim 1:7. We should never shrink back in obeying God and using the gifts He has given us. God controls our future and we are never victims of our circumstances. We are overwhelmingly victorious in Christ and we must act like it.

I'm sorry nikalo, but you don't have a clue. I teach young kids who have autism and they are SUCH a blessing. Yes, there are struggles, but in the end kids with autism are special. They light up a room with their personalities, and childlike wonderment. You must not have any direct contact with anyone with autism or you would absolutely know that. BTW, any parent you talk to that has a child with autism will tell you the same thing. Guaranteed. I'm sorry that you can't understand, it is hard, I understand, but trust me, God has a plan for their lives just like he has a plan for yours. :)

A response to nikaly0 in hopes to encourage you: I'm sure you've heard the verse "All things work together for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purposes". That means ALL things, yes, even the autism. It was a part of God's plan for that boy's life. But we also need to remember Phil 4:8, "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." Look how God provided a loving family in spite of the circumstances he was in. Listen to the beautiful voice he has and see the desire God gave him to share it with others. He is a light in God's kingdom in spite of his "disability".

There is a 62 page book... "Angel Unaware" written by Dale Evans Rogers. I implore you to open your heart and your mind- read this book. Then watch young Christopher again and see the miracle and blessing of a child's love for Christ.

Did you not hear about this kids mother on drugs and stuff? His mother did that to him, not GOD. He is blessed with life, a loving family, a great voice, and a love for the lord that most of us wish we had. We all take the lord for granted and sin over and over again.

He is AWESOME, AWESOME and sooo blessed by God. God Bless his family for getting him out of foster care. We have a wonderful granson, Colton, who is also autistic. He is 4 and doesn't say much but tries. I know God is going to lay his hands on our Colton and he will speak. God blessed him with a wonderful dad and mom. We love them very much.

I have Asperger Syndrome. Which is like an in-between of Autism and Neuro-typical. I'm neither one or the other. However, seeing this gives me hope that life isn't as hopeless as it sometimes seems. I can tell you now, that boy understands a lot more about God and life then many of us ever will.

To forgivennotperfect: While I am a believer in God to say "this child's autism and blindness come from the drugs his mother took" is a terribly ignorant and inaccurate statement. It is also incredibly offensive when you consider all the wonderful mothers who did nothing but take care of their child responsibly before and after birth. I am a proud older sister of a brother (the best brother ever) with autism and a daughter of a mom who does nothing but does her best to make his experience of living better each day through God. Sin has its consequences, but I do not think that a child with autism is a result of sin. Rather a child with autism is brought into a family's life to test them and bring out the best in them. Without my brother, my family would not be the patient, strong, tolerant and cooperative unit it's become.

If you aren't aware of what autism really is, educate yourself and surround yourself. Do not look at the whole concept with a generalized view, the spectrum is too vast to allow that kind of outlook. If you have relatives in your family that have just been diagnosed and you are struggling my advice to you is to pray and to approach the situation from a place of perseverance. Do not sit around thinking "Why me?" but rather "Why not me?". Get involved and over time you will see that these kids, these people really do bring out the best in us and really aren't all that different. Also, never underestimate what they might know or understand, most likely they understand every single word you're saying even if their behavior doesn't convey that they do.

To Reallynow: God did not make this child suffer....God does not make anyone suffer....this child's autism and blindness come from the drugs his mother took....God loves this little boy...but sin has consequences and we live in a fallen world as a consequence of sin. I believe God gave this young man the gift of a beautiful voice to compensate for the consequences of his mother's actions that he has to live with.

this is it! "THE WILL OF GOD." now that i have seen this, i'd say that its an eye opener to every Christians that think life has a lot of problems and too busy to do what god tells them to do..this young boy here has all the courage to do the will of god even when somethings are hard for him. he is really bless in the eyes of the lord.this is the greatest miracle i have ever seen god do.. i thank god for this fine, handsome, young men of god right here... and god bless this young men this beautiful days!!!

I work with exceptional children. In so many cases, with his condition something like this simply would not BE POSSIBLE- but God CHOSE Christopher to show again how with Christ ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!!! Christopher means " Christ- bearer" how appropriate!!!
