Two and a half years ago my wife was given six months to live, having been diagnosed with a highly aggressive form of muscle cancer. Being doers of the word, she had hands laid on by elders of the church, and then we prayed the Father to give us wisdom. We were directed by two sources, one a holistic Christian doctor and also by a three star admiral to try asparagus therapy. My wife had the mass removed, and refused chemo and radiation, claiming after research that these both appeared to be more destructive than helpful and there was no proof that they had ever cured a single case of cancer. We started asparagus therapy, which reportedly kept rapidly dividing cells from going wild, while allowing the body with good nutrition to do what it does ten times in the average person's life, arrest and destroy the cancer cells. Well, after one year of this approach she when in for a check up and they declared she was "perfect" and whatever she was doing, she should continue. We have and she's still doing great (56 years old). Reports indicate that many who have undergone chemo and radiation and been told to go home, nothing more could be done, have started asparagus therapy and recovered 100 percent. For those who might care, it involves steaming asparagus, pureeing it, and then using 1/4 cup of puree with water to make a cup of soup, twice daily... and that is it, simple. We've been doing it ever since finding out about it and like I say her oncologist gave her six months, and two and a half years later, with nothing medically besides removing the tumor, she is fine! @child_of_light: Your thoughts are based in the "power of positive thinking" yet this is not a model supported scripturally. Yes, we should put on ... "whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things." (Phil 4:8) And in Romans 12:1-2 we are instructed "... by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." And, that we are to "... not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day." (2 Cor 4:16) Or Col 3:16, "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God."
You see, it's not about "catching" good or bad thoughts. The disease given to this man of God was not a result of his own bad thoughts. It is because of sin having entered the world through Adam that our bodies break down and that diseases come upon us. Can God allow these to "rain" on the righteous? Absolutely (Matthew 5:45). He is God. He alone is sovereign. God's ways are not man's ways, and His thoughts are not man's thoughts (Is 55:8).

I know that God does everything for a reason and we do go through sickness and diseases in this life. I know that it has brought me much closer to Him and He lets me know that I am never alone no matter what i may be going through. I have had trials of divorce and severe cronic pain, but I always knew He was guiding me in the right direction when I really wanted something else. We may think we can go through each problem on our own, but I let Him lead me and it has always come out better and I give him all the praise and glory.

It is because of sin and sometimes God has to cause things to happen to bring repentance, look at Pharaoh The first three plagues seemed to affect "all the land of Egypt and the Passover anyone that didn't obey.

So God is just and right in using his creation to bring Himself Glory
if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Amazing story. But I agree with the opinion, that god will never give desease to us. A wise man once said: There are two wells of power. One is the positive, devine power, which causes healing in the body and is sent from god. The other is a negative power, which causes desease in the body. It is sent from satan. This two wells of power are acting by thoughts. Every thought we are thinking, is sent to us from one of these wells. There are only two possibilities: The thought is good and is sent from god. Or the thought is bad and is sent from satan. Catching up bad thoughts, like thoughts of fear, etc. can make us ill. Catching up good thoughts, like thoughts of joy and gratefulness make us healthy and happy. We as children of god have the free will, which is given us from god himself. He gave us this free will, because he wants us to identify him as the truth of life. He don't wants to constrain us to follow him, because we won't value his love and it wouldn't bring us forward.Th e most important thing is: WE can choose by ourselves, which thoughts we catch up. We have the possibility putting bad thoughts away. We have the possibility not to accept a diagnosis and also bad thoughts which are going along with. We have to break up with the desease. Because: We only can serve one lord. We can not keep hold of desease, because if we do that, we are connected to satan and so god can not help us. If we break up with desease, we are FREE and by our free will we can go back to god. But we can ask him for help to come back to him. We are FREE people. We mustn't be slaves of deseaseand fear.
