Daniel Summary
The Book of Daniel is a part of the Christian Old Testament that tells of how Daniel, a Judean exile at the court of Nebuchadnezzar II, the ruler of Babylon, becomes a government official and has many different visions.
The earliest manuscripts of the Book of Daniel consist of a series of six third-person narratives followed by four apocalyptic visions in the first person. The third-person narratives focus on tests of religious fidelity involving Daniel and his friends and Daniel's interpretation of royal dreams and visions. In the second part of the book, Daniel recounts the apocalyptic scenario he saw in his dreams and visions.
