The Real Reason Crime Is On The Rise. The Truth Is Powerful!

Sign of the times? I hope not.

Have you ever stopped to think about WHY there is so much more crime in the United States today than 20 years ago or even 10 years ago? What about the world? Did you ever think that we would witness beheadings of fellow Americans on the internet?

Every day we hear news stories about crime within families and cultures that extend to every corner of the world. Why is it that each generation can look back and reflect on a safer time?

When I was young (more than a few years ago) we never locked our front door during the daytime but now it’s the norm. Our pets ran around the yard, free, but now I have my pets fenced in and still fear that someone will try and take them.

How did this happen? And I’m only referring to my cul-de-sac. What about the persecutions around the world? When did such acts of horror become the expected? When did simply obeying our laws become old- fashioned?

While you may or may not agree with the clip below by Clay Christensen, it does offer a thought about HOW we got here.

A Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School, Clay Christensen has quite an extensive background that has led him to his latest thoughts reflected in the video clip (featured below).

Mr. Christensen is also a published author and once served as a bishop. From 1971 to 1973, he served as a missionary in the Republic of Korea and speaks fluent Korean.

He believes strongly that religion plays a large part in our democracy.

“Most people, most of the time, voluntarily choose to obey the law.”

He states that religion plays a very important role in teaching us and our children how to obey the law.

“As religion loses its influence over the lives of Americans, what will happen to democracy? If we take away religion, we can’t hire enough police.”

John 10:10 says "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."

God wants us to experience joy, not judgement. Righteousness, not rioting. Peace, not persecution.
