When Dexter was found, it was obvious this senior dog survived a life of neglect and abuse. He is a 13 year-old pit bull that was rescued from a high kill shelter. His spine was permanently damaged, but he had a wonderful spirit. He wasn’t ready to give up on life.
In August of this year, Dexter was diagnosed with Mast Cell Tumors. He’s undergone surgery to get rid of the tumors, but because of his age, it will take him a while to recover.
Since Dexter is so old, his new owners decided not to put the dog through chemotherapy and radiation treatment, which would be almost torture for him.
Now, the family is realizing that Dexter may be facing his final days, so they created a bucket list for him. They want to make sure he gets a chance to live life to the fullest, and it’s one of the sweetest things we have ever seen.
Dogs are wonderful gifts from the Lord. :)
