Maddy is on the MOVE!

Change is good. And sometimes changes are inevitable. But sometimes change is just necessary to force people to ‘see’ you differently and ‘treat’ you differently. And for Maddy, she went for it! Good for you and keep up the hard work! :)

Madeline (Maddy) Stuart is a young, beautiful, 18-year-old young lady from Australia. And Maddy has Down Syndrome. But that will not stop her from her dreams of becoming a model.

When Maddy was born, her parents were told her that “She would never achieve anything.” (What a horrible thing to say to ANY parent!)

But praise God, Maddy was given parents who believed she can do ANYTHING!

Maddy’s mom, Rosanne, said “I have made a point of never letting anyone be critical of her,” she said. “[I tell Maddy] every day how amazing, funny, smart, beautiful, [and] wonderful she is.”

And that started with losing weight. Maddy struggled with her weight, carrying an extra 40 pounds that she has worked tirelessly through swimming, cheerleading and dance to lose. And she looks AMAZING!

And with this new look, Maddy has become a role model and hopes to change the way our society treats and views children with Down Syndrome.

Rosanne, has watched firsthand at how hard this transformation has been and could not be any more proud. She sees in Maddy a new level of confidence and energy. And continues to encourage her daughter, daily.

Maddy hopes her to use her modeling career as a platform for changing lives and how people are viewed.

Maddy says, “Modeling will help change society’s view of people with Down Syndrome…Exposure will help to create acceptance.”

Rosanne agrees, saying, “I think it is time people realized that people with Down syndrome can be sexy and beautiful and should be celebrated.”

Maddy’s personality “just bursts out” per her mom. “It’s that confidence – and beauty, both inside and out that Rosanne wants others to see.”

Rosanne’s wish is for everyone to “Keep an open mind. People with Down Syndrome can do anything…they just do it at their own pace. Give them a chance and you will be rewarded beyond your greatest expectations!”
