You sent me a message more than a year ago on a post I wrote, asking what a "Moderate Christian" is. If you think of Christianity as a line, on the far end of the line are the "crazies" Those believers who twist the Bible to match their own devices (think of the people who handle snakes, think Obama is embedding tracking chips under our skin, etc.)

Closer to the middle are fundamentalists. They believe the word of God is true, no ifs, ands or buts. In Genesis, there are seven 24-hour periods in the week. The Flood actually covered the entire world (and all animals happened to exist within 3 days walk from where the Ark was), etc.

Towards the middle, you find me. I don't think the Bible is literal. My view is that Evolution and the Bible go side by side. God made the world, but the seven days was just a metaphor so we could understand it better. (Much the same way Jesus used parables to make his point). To me, the most important lessons are to love our neighbour, never do anything you wouldn't want done to yourself, help the poor, etc.

If you keep going along the line, there are many Christians who see the Bible merely as a guide. They take the ideas, combine them with philosophies and teachings and combine it all together. Most do it to be better people, but this is where you also find many cults. They mash ideas together and insist it is what must be believed.

So. Me as a moderate is simply that. I respect religion, the Bible, Jesus and morality and try not to get too caught up in the details that seem to possess those at either end.

Hope that makes sense,
Chris

Let it be done in Jesus precious name! Amen.

welcome back brother, hope you are doing well in Jesus.

Dear brother, I am happy for you too. I know what it is to have problems with teeth. I had some too, but smaller that yours. But I am sorry you had to suffer all those years. You had to have a pain too, I think. Teeth repair is expensive in every country, so I have to pray for good teeth all my life.
I know that now you will have more selfconfidence and you can smile more :) God bless you

Dear Texan,
I wrote you a comment on your request for `Praying for myself.` Hope it will help you. God bless you.

Ok I will do as you told me to do. Thank you for telling me this.

Last time I tried starting a thread on my own, they did not allow me. I did state "not a question, but prophecies" then i went ahead and shared the prophecies of Antichrist regarding the popes. they never put it.
As for being rude, I just want to get my message to everyone. maybe I'll write it on everyone's wall?

I pray that the nonsmoking is going well, and that God is strengthening you. Blessings to you. :)

Hi Texan4jesus,

It is very reassuring to read that I am not praying inappropriately to that bring down the wrath of God, as I so need to please him. Since, putting my belief and faith in God, I know he hears our prayers and protects us from the transgressions we experience when Satan starts to taunt our faith in God.

I believe that by asking God to forgive my sins, thanking him for his blessings, to help others and to put my own needs last, HE hears the humility in my prayers and will do everything to ensure that they are answered in HIS time. Amen.

Thank you for your reassurance.

My spirit rejoice about your last post about your confession of speaking in tongue. You confess Holy Spirit and He will confess you!

vierocka wrote on 03/09/2013:

I am so happy you were baptized in Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues. I know how much blessing it is. But its funny that deep inside I somehow knew you have it, because of your posts and by fire in it. Therefore I was confused when you wrote your last post about tongues.
But I will always talk about speaking in tongues to every believer, because I want them to receive this big blessing. God bless you brother.

vierocka wrote on 03/08/2013:

I must disagree with your statment that speaking in tongues is learned and that majority of speakers in tongues learned that. I read that one scientist wanted to learn speaking in tongue too. He said you can do it like 15 minutes but not more, than your brain will not produce more words. He was like doing this 15 minutes and one sister in Christ next to him was praying 1 hour! When I received it I didnt do it by learning or listening to others praying in tongues it came out of me like one language, which no one had in our group.
Texan, speaking in tongues is a big blessing and evil wants you not to receive it, because he knows its a big blessing! Go for it Texan! You will have more fire for Jesus, more strenght to fight evil and sin, you will feel Jesus more in your spirit. I encourage you, its for every believer.
