Man's Emotional Post Revealing Pregnant Girlfriend Died In Car Crash

Brandon Forseth was never any good at keeping secrets. But his girlfriend, Kylee Bruce, convinced him to keep a pretty big one. The two were expecting a baby. They'd wanted to break the news together, at around 20-weeks, once they knew if they were having a boy or girl. But after Brandon's pregnant girlfriend died in a car accident, he broke the news early in the most heartbreaking tribute to the family he lost too soon.

Brandon and Kylee were over the moon about the bundle of joy they were expecting. Brandon couldn't wait to tell the world, but Kylee wanted to wait until they knew the gender at 20-weeks. Tragically, the couple would never get the chance.

Brandon penned a heartbreaking post on Facebook announcing that his 18-week pregnant girlfriend died in a car accident. He also revealed the secret he'd been working so hard to keep.

The Joy Of Expecting

Brandon couldn't wait to be a dad. He talks about the incredible feeling of knowing a little one was on the way.

"Even though I hadn't met my baby, the amount of love and excitement I had in my heart was unlike anything I'd ever felt. Listening to its heartbeat for the first time on the ultrasound, staring at the the ultrasound pictures on my fridge in awe of the little life growing inside of you. I couldn't wait to be a father and I felt so blessed everyday that it would grow up with you as its mother."

Because of all of the uncontrollable excitement, Brandon admits he let the big secret slip a few times. Kylee couldn't help but laugh at him.

"I couldn't help it and told multiple family members and close friends and you'd always say,

‘Brandon! You can never keep a secret!’

And I'd just smile and say, 'I'm sorry, I'm just too excited.'"

Sharing Their Secret

But now, he was breaking his promise to wait once again. But this time, for very different, very tragic reasons.

"I'm sorry I'm breaking my promise right now and telling everyone a couple weeks early, but I was so proud of you, and I want everyone to know how committed you were to this child, how health conscious you were, how you would go online each week and tell me things like, 'Our baby is the size of grapefruit right now,' or 'Did you know our baby has already started to develop eyelids?!' ... I could feel the warmth and purpose our child gave you, and I knew I needed to be the best man I could possibly be for both of you, to keep you comfortable and safe. I couldn't keep you safe last night."

The terrible loss came right around Christmas, and the festive decorations only accentuated his loss.

"This Christmas was going to be the best ever. I'm currently staring at my first Christmas Tree I've had in my home in years, a tree that you and I found and cut down together. The base of the tree is filled with presents to me, from you. Beautifully wrapped and neatly stacked."

Support For The Grieving

Instead of growing, Brandon's family had suddenly shrunk. And the senseless loss left him feeling helpless.

"I miss you so much Ky. I've always been able to fix things and solve problems for people, but I don't know what to do from here. I feel helpless. I'm still waiting for you to walk in the door. I love you so very much Kylee, I know you'll be the best Mom in heaven to our little one when he/she is born in June. I wish I could see its little face just one time. I know it would have been beautiful just like its mother."

Brandon's heartbreaking post was shared more than 160,000 times in just 24 hours. Support poured in from all over. Messages of condolences, words of encouragement, and donations to help with funeral arrangements.

And while nothing but time and God's grace can heal Brandon's aching heart, there was certainly some consolation that in a time of such darkness, light flooded in from all around the world.

"Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." Galatians 6:2

Please continue to lift Brandon and all of Kylee's family up in prayer.
