1-Chronicles

1-Chronicles Summary

The Books of Chronicles, split into two sections, are largely parallel stories to the Davidic narratives in the Books of Samuel and the Books of Kings. The division of Chronicles and its place in the Christian canon of the Old Testament are based upon the Septuagint.

1 Chronicles mostly contains genealogical lists, concluding with the House of Saul and Saul\'s rejection by God. This rejection sets the stage for the rise of David. This book also contains the history of David’s reign.
