Bible Verses on Animals

Animals are mentioned in the Bible for many reasons. They were part of everyone's lives back in Biblical times, they were featured in parables and they were even symbols. There are many Bible verses about animals, but here are just a few we gathered together. Hopefully they will help you understand how animals were used in the Bible a little better.

    Genesis 1:21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
    Genesis 1:24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
    Genesis 1:30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creeps on the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
    Genesis 6:19 And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shall you bring into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female.
    Genesis 8:20 And Noah built an altar to the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
    Job 35:11 Who teaches us more than the beasts of the earth, and makes us wiser than the fowls of heaven?
    Job 38:41 Who provides for the raven his food? when his young ones cry to God, they wander for lack of meat.
    Psalms 147:9 He gives to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.
    Proverbs 12:10 A righteous man regards the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
    Isaiah 5:25 Therefore is the anger of the LORD kindled against his people, and he has stretched forth his hand against them, and has smitten them: and the hills did tremble, and their carcasses were torn in the middle of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
    Isaiah 11:6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatted calf together; and a little child shall lead them.
    Matthew 6:26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much better than they?
    Luke 12:24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them: how much more are you better than the fowls?
    James 3:7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and has been tamed of mankind:
