Hosea

Hosea Summary

The Book of Hosea is one of the books of the Christian Old Testament and it is one of the twelve Minor Prophets. Hosea prophesied during a very dark time of Israel\'s history. Many people of Israel turned away from God to worship pagan idols.

The first part of the Book of Hosea is an account of Hosea\'s marriage with Gomer biographically which is a metaphor for the relationship with Yahweh and Israel. The second part of the Book of Hosea describes Hosea\'s marriage autobiographically. One of the later parts of the Book of Hosea includes an oracle judging Israel, Ephraim in particular, for not living up to the covenant.

At the end of the book, a prophecy is made that someday this will all be changed, that God will indeed have pity on Israel. If you would like to see the full Book of Hosea please read through our complete online Bible at GodVine.com!
